Talk (What is Christmas about?)

Introduction

I don't know about you, but I thought the film was good……
And like many films, it has a bit of a moral to it…
What do you think it was?

But the question still remains - what is Christmas about?

To me Christmas is about:
The birth of Jesus
New beginnings and 2nd chances
- Matthew 9:13 P922 "I did not come to invite good people but to invite sinners"
- John 3:16 P1062 "God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life"
You and me (God came for us)
Choices
- We can choose to acknowledge God at Christmas, or we can choose to ignore God
- Like many things in life, God lets us make our own decisions
Miracles
The Christmas story includes miracles
- Angel appears to Elizabeth (John the Baptist)
- Angel appears to Mary and Joseph
- Star
- The 3 kings
- If you read rest of the Bible you will read stories of people been healed of all kinds of things, from blindness to been dead…
And in the same was God can turn your life around…when your feeling happy, or sad
Celebration (worship)
- Celebrating that God cares about us so much, that he was willing to become one of us
Above all…love
- Because that is why God gave us Christmas…because he loves us…
